Last night was very windy. The noise caused the monkey to wake up and come over to our bed. He slid right in the middle of my husband and me. I tried to get him to go back to sleep but he was wide awake. I kept telling him, “Go to sleep. It’s 2:30. C’mon monkey, let’s go to sleep ”.
But he was fully awake, with no sleep in sight.
Then he starts singing. He hadn’t done this in a while. His singing is loud, and he’s singing full blast. “Lalalala! Lalalala!” Of course this causes a commotion. Harley, our dog wants to see what’s going on. Then our cat, is yawning, walking over to see what the fuss is about. Then the dog wants to chase the cat. And am I going crazy!
Everyone needs to go to sleep!
It’s really funny right now. But it wasn’t so funny at 2 in the morning.
And the monkey, he is not phased by any of the commotion. He keeps singing away.
“Lalalala! Lalalalala!”
I keep telling him to be quiet. He’s going to wake up his dad. He ignores me and keeps singing. Then I close his lips. I tell him, “Shhhh. You are going to wake up your dad!”
And what does he do?
He starts humming. “Hmmmmm! Hmmmm!”. He’s humming loud. He’s just so happy.
After about two hours of this, I finally tell my husband, “Your turn. I’m beat!” and I go to my daughter’s room, close the door, ask her to make room for me, and I go to sleep.
Oh my monkey. It’s never a boring day with you.
You are the love of our lives. ❤️❤️❤️
