Breaks My Heart.

This is what the monkey did to my daughter. She was taking him to Grandma’s. He wanted chicken nuggets. She decided to stop by the ATM to get cash before heading over to Chick Fil A. He didn’t understand. He got upset. And this was the result. Along with some scratches on her back and…

I will not worry.

I was hearing my voicemails and heard a message from the school nurse. My son is missing one of his vaccinations. Without it he won’t be able to register. My son is getting bigger and stronger. The thought of holding him down for a shot is terrifying. I called my husband right away to let…

Tough steps.

This picture popped on my Facebook memories. It’s of my monkey, six years ago. We used to tell him to smile and he would. We used to tell him to count with us and he would (up to three). He even would try to sing the itzy bitzy spider with me And then we lost…

New School

Today the hubby is trying to register the monkey to his new school. We need to get a transferred approved before the actual registration can begin since the new school is not our home school. I have so much hope for our monkey. New school, different teacher, different principal. And hopefully new beginnings. I’m still…

What is going on?

My husband and I always think about this. When the monkey does something, or is trying to tell us something and we just can figure it out, we always wonder: β€œWhat is going on in that beautiful mind of yours???” I would give anything to know.

He has his own way of saying it.

The monkey loves to swim. When he wants to go outside, he will look for the sunscreen lotion, and bring it to us. Then he starts clapping – his sign for ‘more’. He has so much to say. He just has his own way of saying it.

Yeah, he has empathy.

I have written about how the monkey cannot see someone crying. If you’re crying, he will stop whatever he’s doing, run towards you and kiss you. He thinks his kisses is the cure to your sadness. He cannot predict your thoughts nor read between the lines, but he does try to help. In his own…

He Does.

Since the hubby is a teacher, he gets to stay home with the monkey, which means the monkey doesn’t see my parents on a daily basis. Yesterday as my husband was driving to buy groceries, he made a turn that wasn’t towards my parent’s house. Which the monkey wasn’t happy. He started grunting and trying…

Fifteen Minutes

The monkey loves our private speech therapist. He anxiously but patiently waits for her before each of our appointments. And when he sees her coming to get him, he runs inside excitedly. Last week, he hugged her so much he didn’t want to let go. When my husband finally told him it was time to…

Dentist

Today was dentist visit. And as all autism households know, it’s just plain torture. My husband went alone. Both my daughter and I had to work. And this is the text he sent. 😒 And my heart just broke, for everyone. πŸ’”πŸ’”
