Be grateful.

The monkey came over to our bed at 4 am, wide awake. He just wanted to be hugged and to cuddle. After about an hour my husband took over and took him downstairs. The monkey kept hugging him and then he started to sing.

And even though we are both a little sleep deprived, we are grateful for a beautiful healthy little boy. One who is happy and singing and eager to hop on the bus at 6.30 am. 😍

And this is what autism has taught us. Everyday is different and we don’t understand a lot of my son’s triggers that get him upset. So when we have good days (even if they start at 4 am!) we will take them! And be grateful. ❤️
