Sleep Deprivation & Autism.

This picture is from this morning. My monkey is sound asleep on my bed. He looks so peaceful.

But last night was a different story.

He was running around non-stop. He was laughing and jumping and running up and down the stairs. My husband and I were drained by 2 am. I kept telling him to sleep in another room. There’s no point in both of us being sleep deprived. But he didn’t want to leave me.

Around 4 am the monkey finally lay down on my bed and eventually went to sleep.

Today will be a tough day, with many coffee cups to help us handle the daily demands.

Sleep deprivation and autism – the story of our lives. 😪💤
